Torino, October 18, 2024 - The final day of a record edition of the International Astronautical Congress 2024 (IAC) is taking place in Milan. The Regione Piemonte (Regional Government) and Piemonte Agency - (Centro Estero per l’Internazionalizzazione - Ceipiemonte) have presented a significant exhibition space of over 200 square meters to promote companies and projects that position the region as a reference point for the development of the space economy.
Twenty-two companies participated in the exhibition area of the Regione Piemonte, organized by Piemonte Agency - (Centro Estero per l’Internazionalizzazione - Ceipiemonte) as part of the Integrated Supply Chain Project "Aerospace" - promoted by Regione Piemonte and co-financed by the P.R. A representative from the Aerospace District of Piemonte, the University of Torino, and eight other aerospace industry excellence companies - Criotec Impianti, Ellena, Imex.A, Jorio, Sheetmetal Fabrication, Sipal, Vanzetti Engineering, Vastalla - were also present at the stand.
Today, the Regione Piemonte and Piemonte Agency - (Centro Estero per l’Internazionalizzazione - Ceipiemonte) received significant recognition from the organizers of the IAC 2024 Exhibition, winning the "Most Networking Oriented Pavilion" award for its exhibition features, promotion of the space sector, as evidenced by the over 500 B2B meetings, and the engagement of numerous visitors. The state-of-the-art touch monitor in the spacious exhibition area attracted particular interest: equipped with advanced CGI (Computer Graphics) technologies, it provided visitors with a dynamic and intuitive experience, allowing them to explore 3D space models with a 360° view. The video and photographic documentation further enriched the experience, highlighting the technical and production excellence of Piemonte in globally significant projects such as the International Space Station (ISS), the Artemis program, and the Euclid mission, all initiated by NASA.
"This important recognition reflects the quality of our companies and their ability to seize and develop business opportunities, along with an innovative exhibition investment that had already garnered interest ten days ago when we presented it in the Transparency Room. A success - declare President Alberto Cirio and Councillor for the Development of Productive Activities Andrea Tronzano - that we share with the territory and with the business world that has stimulated a decidedly growing sector with many prospects for improvement; it is no coincidence that we are the leading region for exports in this sector."
"We are particularly pleased with the recognition received - emphasizes Dario Peirone, Chairman of Ceipiemonte - our primary goal is to highlight the companies present by designing welcoming spaces capable of developing business meeting opportunities. During these days, we organized over 500 B2B meetings and welcomed more than 50 buyers. Piemonte is becoming increasingly central in the space sector, as demonstrated by the growing ability to attract companies and talent from around the world. Currently, there are over 50 foreign investment projects in the aerospace sector in the pipeline followed by Ceipiemonte, and in the last 24 months, five foreign companies operating in the space sector have finalized their investments in Piemonte. These are highly technological and innovative companies that have chosen to invest in our region due to the optimal mix of talent, large companies, a diversified supply chain, and effective institutional support."
