Piemonte’s healthcare system, the one with the best service in Italy, looks ahead to the future and invests almost €800M in two new hospital complexes for innovation and research
Piemonte’s healthcare system is the best one in Italy when it comes to hospital treatments and basic assistance services: this is the success acknowledged by the 2018 Italian Health Ministry ranking, which every year monitors the prevention and assistance activities held out by national hospitals and local authorities. Not to mention the record number of 9.000 organ transplants completed by the medical teams of the hospitals in the region registered to the 30th November 2018.
Another healthcare excellence in Piemonte is the one concerning the production of new technologies and innovations, thanks to the great effort of the University of Torino in the field of biomedical research.
These are the two cornerstones on which Piemonte is building its future. Therefore, two new ambitious projects have been recently launched to further promote efficiency, innovation and research: the Torino New Teaching and Research Hospital, in Piemonte’s capital and the Novara New Teaching and Research Hospital, located between Torino and Milano and not far from Malpensa International Airport.
The two facilities will have a strategic role and will be supported by an innovative public–private partnership that will bring an investment of almost €800M. These projects will deeply transform the urban planning of the two cities and will also attract investment. They offer a great opportunity to the life sciences and real estate enterprises to work together to contribute to the development of a new European health, training and research hub.
