The Piemonte Agency - Ceipiemonte s.c.p.a. is actively involved in promoting the international development of local businesses and fostering international cooperation in the Piemonte region of northwest Italy. This initiative falls under the Progetto Integrato di Filiera (PIF) ICT, a project aimed at supporting the ICT sector in the region. FILM INDUSTRY IN PIEMONTE
Piemonte, the birthplace of Italy’s first cinemas and pioneering films, television, telephone and IT industries. Located inside Torino’s picturesque Mole Antonelliana, Piemonte is also home to the internationally famous Italian National Museum of Cinema which is also a hub for cultural initiatives of national and international standing. For all these reasons, Piemonte has rightly earned the status of cradle of the Italian cinema industry.
According to Torino Piemonte Film Commission, in 2023 the region achieved unprecedented success, overseeing 236 productions and 1,300 days of filming, recording an impressive 27% increase from previous years. With four bustling sets in action each day, the cumulative impact on Piemonte, driven solely by the film and TV series industry, amounted to an estimated 52 million €. This remarkable achievement highlights the region’s pivotal role in shaping the entertainment landscape.
