The Exploration Company opens its first Italian headquarters in Piemonte to develop the engineering of space capsules for future explorations.

Founded in 2021, The Exploration Company (TEC) develops, manufactures, and operates modular, reusable spacecraft to make space logistics more accessible, sustainable, and cooperative. The flagship Nyx spacecraft family is designed for cargo missions to low Earth orbit and the lunar vicinity, with a long-term roadmap toward human-rated missions.
TEC is a pan-European space company, with centres of excellence in Bordeaux (systems, propulsion, thermal protection), Munich (avionics, software, GNC, integration), and Torino (mechanisms, robotics, backup mission control), complemented by operations in Houston (US), expansion sites for lunar programs in the UAE, and cryogenic capabilities in Luxembourg.
TEC is the first European company to have signed a Space Act Agreement with NASA and has been the fastest-growing space tech company in Europe in 2023, 2024 and 2025 (Financial Times / Sifted ranking). Since its inception in Q3 2021, TEC has grown to nearly 500 employees, signed €800 million in contracts and raised €300 million from tier-1 venture capital funds

The project in Piemonte

The Exploration Company chose Piemonte for its competences in the aerospace industry, for the presence of top companies that can be part of its supply chain and for the Politecnico di Torino. In early 2024, the company launched its first Italian branch in Torino, an engineering hub dedicated to the design and development of mechanisms, robotics, and backup mission control. The office already employs over 50 people, with plans to expand the workforce to 100 resources. Furthermore, part of the assembly operations could be relocated to Turin in the near future.
