THE THIRD EDITION OF HYPERCAR EVENT KICKS OFF IN TORINO: GLOBAL LUXURY AUTOMOTIVE PLAYERS MEET PIEMONTE SUPPLIERS
Until October 29, Torino becomes the world capital of luxury automotive thanks to the only Italian B2B event dedicated to hypercars, super cars, restomod, and motorsport. The initiative features more than 400 B2B meetings between Piemonte’s top companies and international players such as McLaren, Lotus, and Ferrari.
Torino, October 28, 2025 – The third edition of Hypercar Event was inaugurated today in Torino, the international business and innovation hub for high-performance and luxury automotive. The event brings together a selected audience of companies, designers, buyers, and R&D teams from the hypercar, super car, restomod, and motorsport segments.
Organized by Piemonte Agency, Hypercar Event is promoted by Regione Piemonte and the Torino Chamber of Commerce, within the framework of the Integrated Supply Chain Projects “Automotive & Transportation”, “Mechatronics”, and “Aerospace” promoted by Regione Piemonte and financed through the ERDF 2021–2027 program.
At the heart of Hypercar Event is a schedule of over 400 B2B meetings involving 50 operators from 30 divisions representing 24 international brands and 49 companies from Piemonte, hosted at Nuvola Lavazza on October 28–29. Among the participating players are major names such as Aerfal Automotive, Elektron Motors, Italdesign, Pininfarina, ZF, McLaren and McLaren Racing, Lotus, Lazarus Automobili, Casmin Group, Marcos Motor Company, SAC & Co. Engineering Design, Eccentrica Cars, and Renault, alongside top Italian and Piemonte companies such as Ferrari, Maserati, Ducati Motor Holding, Cecomp, Manifattura Automobili Torino, Sabelt, and Podium Advanced Engineering.
“With Hypercar Event, we promote Piemonte’s industrial excellence in luxury automotive — one of the most iconic and dynamic sectors of Made in Italy,” stated Alberto Cirio, President of Regione Piemonte, and Andrea Tronzano, Regional Councillor for Productive Activities. “This event is both a prestigious showcase and a tangible economic promotion tool that connects our companies with major international players. Piemonte demonstrates its ability to combine mechanical tradition with technological vision, positioning itself as a strategic partner for those investing in innovation, design, and performance.”
According to Massimiliano Cipolletta, President of the Torino Chamber of Commerce: “The hypercar sector continues to grow and remains unaffected by the wider automotive crisis. Looking at our data on motorsport-related automotive components, in 2024 we recorded an increase in turnover (+1.2%) and employment (+3.7%), bucking the industry trend. It is therefore strategic to focus on this field—not only because it’s thriving, but also because Piemonte’s supply chain offers extraordinary capabilities, flexibility, and innovations that are highly appealing to leading national and international manufacturers of exclusive vehicles.”
Dario Peirone, President of Piemonte Agency, added: “In the second half of the year, Piemonte Agency further intensified its activities in support of SMEs in the automotive sector, strengthening assistance for companies in this phase of deep transformation. In October alone, over 140 companies took part in initiatives under the Integrated Supply Chain Project dedicated to the automotive industry. Hypercar Event represents a key pillar in our internationalization strategy and, in its third edition, takes on even greater significance thanks to the participation of new, high-profile international players—double compared to the first edition. This result stems from a structured process: from scouting and international missions to lead management, all aimed at generating concrete business opportunities for regional companies and consolidating Piemonte’s position as a reference hub for high-performance luxury cars.”
Preceding Hypercar Event, a thematic conference took place yesterday at the Regione Piemonte Tower, organized in collaboration with Class CNBC and moderated by Andrea Cabrini. The discussion gathered leading figures from the sector to explore the current landscape, emerging trends, and key market segments in the luxury automotive field, with insights from AlixPartners.
The hypercar market—an emblem of extreme performance and exclusive luxury—continues to experience extraordinary growth. Demand for hypercars is rising in line with the expansion of the UHNWI (Ultra-High Net-Worth Individuals) population, defined as individuals with a net worth above USD 30 million. Between 2023 and 2028, UHNWIs are expected to account for 22% of the European, 26% of the North American, and 38% of the Asian market. Furthermore, the sector is projected to grow at a compound annual rate (CAGR) of around 31% between 2025 and 2029, generating an increase exceeding USD 84 billion. Europe remains a central player, representing approximately 37% of the global market.
The Leadership Vision Panel offered key insights into the future of the hypercar industry.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Chief Business Affairs Officer at McLaren Racing, drew from Formula 1 experience to explore McLaren’s evolution from motorsport to the hypercar world—from track to road—highlighting technology transfer, the integration of performance and sustainability, and new business models redefining exclusivity.
Giansimone Graziosi, Marketing & Communication Manager at Lotus Cars Europe, discussed electrification. With deep roots in motorsport and engineering, Lotus is undergoing a major transformation toward a future of electrified performance and luxury design—from the debut of its electric hypercar to new industrial and commercial challenges in a rapidly evolving market.
The conference concluded with a focus on Piemonte’s design heritage, featuring Marco Busi, SVP Global Operations & Coachbuilding at Pininfarina, Antonio Casu of Italdesign, and Monica Mailander, President of Vehicle Valley. The discussion explored how Piemonte’s district is evolving from a historic center of mechanics to a global hub for design, engineering, and electric hypercars—combining tradition, vision, and sustainability, while developing new technologies, materials, and expertise through collaboration among iconic brands, specialized SMEs, research centers, and institutions.
Hypercars represent the ultimate expression of automotive passion—where extreme performance, visionary design, and cutting-edge technology merge into masterpieces on four wheels. Behind every iconic model lies an ecosystem of talent, research, advanced materials, and artisanal precision. Piemonte embodies this heritage uniquely, with a globally recognized, highly specialized supply chain that shapes the engineering and style of some of the most remarkable hypercars representing Made in Italy worldwide. From prototyping to precision components, design to quality control, and from lightweighting to electrification technologies, the region offers an integrated industrial system capable of supporting manufacturers at every stage of development—ensuring excellence, flexibility, and competitive timelines.
According to data from the Observatory on Italian Automotive Components and Mobility Services, conducted by the Torino Chamber of Commerce and ANFIA, the motorsport sector shows positive results in contrast to the wider industry. In 2024, around 130 Italian motorsport specialists generated €1.8 billion in revenue (+1.2% compared to 2023) and employed 6,400 people (+3.7% year-on-year). Emilia-Romagna leads the sector nationally with a 28% share, while Piemonte specialists account for 15% of the total—yet show stronger performance than the rest of the supply chain.
As further evidence of Piemonte’s role as a sourcing hub for international luxury automotive brands, Hypercar Event hosts an exclusive exhibition of seven vehicles designed, engineered, and manufactured in Piemonte:
- EVO38 - Kimera Automobili
- Glickenhaus 007 LMH - Podium
- Nissan GT-R 50 - Italdesign
- Aspark Owl - MAT – Manifattura Automobili Torino
- GFG Bandini Dora - GFG Style
- Vision Rapida - IED – Istituto Europeo del Design
