The project in Piemonte

AVL Italia's establishment in Piemonte dates back to 1980, in the Torino area, chosen for being historically one of the main hubs of the automotive industry in Europe, with a high concentration of companies, from large players to highly specialized SMEs. Initially, the company focused on the sale and installation of measurement instruments and equipment, thanks to offices and local units at customer sites, employing around twenty people. In the 1990s and 2000s, the company began the production of cold test benches at its Borgaro Torinese facility: projects were no longer carried out exclusively at customer sites but also produced at AVL Italia's headquarters and then relocated to the customers' plants. Throughout the 2000s, AVL Italia started developing, in collaboration with customers, new technologies related to internal combustion engines, electrified and hybrid systems, along with all vehicle technologies. The presence of a well-established ecosystem in Piemonte represented a great advantage for the development of innovative mobility projects. The region boasts a cutting-edge research and development network, with centres of excellence, technological clusters and ongoing collaborations with internationally renowned universities, such as the Politecnico di Torino, with which AVL actively collaborates on joint research activities. This has allowed AVL Italia to access highly qualified talent and a favourable environment for experimentation and innovation. Additionally, the numerous funding programs and incentives to attract investment in the technological and industrial sectors make Piemonte the ideal context for AVL Italia's research and innovation activities.
